Beheer openbare en particuliere bosgebieden voor economische, recreatieve en natuurbehoudsdoeleinden. - Negotiate terms and conditions of agreements and contracts for forest harvesting, forest management and leasing of forest lands.

- Plan cutting programs and manage timber sales from harvested areas, assisting companies to achieve production goals.

- Direct, and participate in, forest fire suppression.

- Analyseer het effect van bosomstandigheden op de groeisnelheid van bomen en de prevalentie van boomsoorten en de opbrengst, duur, zaadproductie, levensvatbaarheid van de groei en kieming van verschillende soorten.
- Bestudeer de classificatie van verschillende boomsoorten, de levensgeschiedenis, de licht- en bodemvereisten, de aanpassing aan nieuwe omgevingsomstandigheden en de weerstand tegen ziekten en insecten.
- Conduct public educational programs on forest care and conservation.
- Houd de populaties van wilde dieren in de gaten en beoordeel de impact van bosbouwactiviteiten op de populatie en habitats.
